Netbook vs. Laptop Computer

Netbooks, seeing as they are sort of new on the landscape, currently have other descriptions put on them for instance mini laptop computers or sometimes ultraportables. The expression notebook computer being synonymous with laptop.

Netbook computers, are regarded as being in the subnotebooks category, which is a very rapidly – changing type of smaller, lightweight, lower price tag laptop computers that is meant for basic computing plus the use of web-based programs (they are enabled to connect to the world wide web wirelessly).

They are sold more or less as supplementary devices whose function is to add to an individual’s standard computing resources. Still further depictive references include: small, lightweight, minimalist and cheap lap tops; and smaller, lower price laptop computers.

Introduced during the lead up to the winter holiday shopping season of 2007 – as scaled-down laptops engineered for low weight and furthermore, affordability – netbook computers omitted the cd/dvd disc drive, made due with more compact screens and as a consequence keyboards, and reduced spec and processing power.

During the period since then, the netbook’s monitor sizes have varied from a bit less than five inches to a little more than 10, and with their weight in the 1 kilogram (2. 2 pounds) range.

By the middle of the year ‘09 computers known as netbooks had become more than a little bit easier on the budget compared to classic laptop computers, to the astonishing point of having even been offered as being a free incentive on condition of a subscription to an Internet service plan by AT&T in Atlanta, Georgia

Within the brief period in time since their release, netbook computers have been growing in size and features, while simultaneously netbooks are being made less in weight and more and more small. Therefore, physical traits like their length and width and how little they weigh will not end up being what can differentiate them.

The way it stands currently, maybe a Netbook Computer can probably be described to be a smallish, lower-powered laptop computer that lacks an optical disc drive(cd/dvd player/burner). However that will not likely be for too long either, seeing as optical disc drives are being designed ever smaller and will soon be accommodated in a netbook computer. And computer connectivity is likely to improve to the point where external media like dvd’s and blu- ray disks can easily be done without.

And so, for the time being, a netbook could perhaps best be identified as a smaller, cheaper notebook not having an optical disc drive.
